Switzerland has called in to question China’s human rights record, especially in relation to its treatment of the Uighur community.
More than a million are thought to be in detention. China calls them ‘re-education camps’.
Switzerland says China should implement the recommendations put forward by the former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet. The report claimed the use of arbitrary detentions could be considered a ‘Crime against Humanity’.
It was only last week the Chinese prime minister, Li Qiang, visited this country and was welcomed with full honours.
