Electricity prices will come down next year after the government agreed to a new method on how much the grid can charge producers for transmission.
The exact methodology is quite complex – but the end result should knock half a percent off bills next year – saving households and businesses a total of CHF 124m.
The prices charged by the grid are set by the government to make sure there is enough money to invest in the system without making excessive profits.
