Swiss operator Salt has confirmed hackers stole personal data belonging to its mobile customers
Names, dates of birth, postal and email addresses, and mobile numbers were taken.
Salt says no passwords or banking details were compromised, though it has urged customers to watch for suspicious messages.
The company has not disclosed how many people are affected or when the intrusion happened.
Salt notified the Federal Data Protection Commissioner on a voluntary basis.
