Thousands of Brazilians vote in Geneva

Brazilians across the French speaking parts of the country converged on the Palexpo in Geneva to vote in the presidential election yesterday.

Police were on hand in case of any tensions between the two camps.

More than 10,000 voters arrived as if they were at a football match - sporting the colours of their favoured candidate – yellow for the incumbent Bolsonaro and red for Lula a Silva.

The polling station was strictly monitored to prevent fraud and all voters had to clear airport style security before entering.

Just on a count of the colour of the t-shirts, more Geneva voters opted for Bolsonaro.

Results from Brazil show the left-wing Lula da Silva has secured victory by a narrow margin. He takes office in the New Year.
