Vaud celebrates international music star

The Vaud town of Morges is looking back at the February 1988 night that launched Céline Dion's international career

Then still unknown to the public and billed simply as "C. Dion" at the bottom of the poster, the young Canadian singer won the Swiss qualifying round of the Eurovision Song Contest at the Théâtre de Beausobre.

Her victory in Morges sent her on to win the Eurovision final in Dublin, launching a career now marking a new chapter with a run of concerts in Paris.
