Swiss football fans reluctant to buy Cup tickets

Qatar 2022

Swiss football fans are seemingly reluctant to travel to Qatar for the World Cup.

The Swiss Football Association says it’s only sold half of its quota for games. The tournament starts in just over a month.

The Association says its clear interest is down for this tournament than others in the past.

It’s thought it may be due to the host country, its lack of football culture and human rights criticisms and the unusual time of year the tournament is being played.

But overcall, FIFA says ticket sales are going well. 2.8 million tickets have been sold out of a total of 3.1 million.
