An elected official of the canton Basel City had to be removed from a school in the neighbouring half canton of Basel-Country after teachers complained he was handing out racist election flyers. One student even said he uttered racial insults towards them.
Eric Weber is described as populist politician and runs a party called ‘For People and Homeland’ – which runs on an anti-foreigner and asylum seekers platform.
The school called the police who removed him. The school principal has confirmed he’s now banned from the premises.
