A private swimming pool owner is facing a large bill to clean up a local river after they emptied it onto a field.

A private swimming pool owner is facing a large bill to clean up a local river after they emptied it onto a field.

The Jura cantonal Environment office was alerted to dead fish in the river near the town of Asuel. More than 70 trout had perished.

The problem was tracked down to a pool, which was full of chlorinated water, that had been drained nearby.

The pool’s owner faces paying the cost of the clean-up as well as a fine.
