The canton of Neuchâtel is calling on more people to help save lives. Currently in the canton, over 1,000 volunteers are trained to deliver critical first aid before professional teams arrive.
They’re looking to double that number by the end of 2026.
Every day in Switzerland, nearly twenty cardiac arrests occur, with a survival rate of 5%. Every minute counts.
The Canton of Neuchâtel, through the Cantonal Public Health Service (SCSP), is launching an information campaign this month to highlight the important role of first responders in the first aid chain, featuring an inspiring educational film and moving testimonies from four local volunteers who’ve faced emergencies head-on.
To become a first responder, you’d need to be over 18 years old, have completed the recognized training, download and register on the First Responder Neuchâtel app, and be ready to intervene in an emergency.
