A survey suggests the idea of all streets in city centres should have the speed limit to 30 kph is not a popular as many politicians seem to think.
The TCS asked residents in cities across French speaking Switzerland and found 66% say they object to the blanket limit.
Many fear if local roads all had the same limit, currently smaller residential routes would be busier as the benefits of staying on the main road will be lost.
The TCS say the survey results show there’s a major gap between the people and officials.
An all-round 30 kph limit is an aim by canton Geneva.
