Vaud police are asking for witnesses after the death of a motorcyclist on the road to St Cergue on Friday morning.
Police say initial investigations show the biker was over taking a vehicle while heading up the mountain – but collided with a car heading down.
The car driver was slightly hurt.
The road was closed for several hours as emergency services attended the scene.
Police say the 58 year old motorcyclist lived in France and died on the spot.
