Demonstrators turned up to disrupt a meeting organised by the French populist right-wing party, the National Rally, at a bar in Geneva.
Anti-fascist protestors showed up outside the Café de la Presse while the meeting was going on. It was being held by the candidate for the sixth constituency of the French abroad, 26-year-old Déborah Merceron.
The protestors say they want to make it clear there’s no space for fascists in Geneva.
The bar’s owner told the press that he didn’t realise the meeting was for a far-right candidate. He says he didn’t ask any questions as we are in a democracy.
