Another important vote looms

Geneva voters will decide on 27 September whether to spend CHF 39.5 million on transport projects across the border in France

The credit would fund park-and-ride expansions, extend a tram line through the Nations quarter into French territory, and add priority bus lanes for cross-border commuters.

Cantonal mobility minister Pierre Maudet and most parties back the plan, arguing it eases the daily congestion caused by frontaliers.

The MCG, whose former minister Mauro Poggia is now a national MP, opposes it.

The vote will shape how the canton manages its cross-border commuter flow for years.
