Several hundred people gathered at Europaplatz in Zurich on Saturday evening for a rally calling for political change in Iran.

The demonstration, organised by groups including Voice of Iranian Women Switzerland, took place under the slogan “Stand with the people of Iran – support a free, secular democratic Iran.”

Many participants waved Iranian flags, including the pre-1979 lion and sun symbol often used by opponents of the Islamic Republic.

American and Israeli flags were also visible, along with banners praising US President Donald Trump’s Iran policy.

The rally passed off peacefully.
