Heat closes Geneva paddling pools

Eight of Geneva's eleven paddling pools are now closed as the city battles bacterial contamination during the heatwave.

Six more pools shut after tests detected high levels of Pseudomonas, following the earlier closure of two others because of E. coli.

City officials say extreme heat is making it increasingly difficult to maintain water quality and are considering new measures, including fencing and increased supervision.
