Two shooting incidents in Basel

Police in canton Basel Country are investigating two shooting incidents.

Yesterday morning three men in a French registered car shot several times and hit a 57-year-old numerous times. The car raced off and police are still searching for it. The man was taken to hospital.

But a few hours earlier – around 20 km away in the town of Gelterkinden – some shots were fired at an apartment building.

Police say they don’t believe the two incidents are connected, but investigations are ongoing.

They’re asking for witnesses.
