A Geneva woman who claims her Twint account was hacked is not being reimbursed by Twint or her bank as they claim she must have passed on her personal information.
The woman claims she had more than CHF 4,000 stolen. She also says her credit card and Netflix account were also hit.
The credit card company did pay her back.
But the bank and Twint are refusing – saying she must have passed on her details.
The Federal Cyber Security Office says it’s unlikely her details were sucked in by a Bluetooth app. It believes she may have been duped into providing information, probably without her knowledge, on social media.
