Two teenagers in Geneva had a shock after they bought a ready to eat salad at the Coop store in Montbrilliant.
In their lunch they came across a dead mouse.
They said they didn’t realise what it was at first, but then they were shocked.
The retailer has apologised and offered them a CHF 1,000 voucher in compensation.
One of the teens says she struggled to eat for a week and had to watch her mother cook, just to make sure.
Doctors checked to make sure they hadn’t picked up an infection.
The Geneva cantonal chemist, Patrick Edder, says the dead mouse in a ready to eat meal is unacceptable and intolerable.
Coop says it’s an unfortunate and absolutely exceptional case.
