From January this year, it’s been compulsory to have a pollution sticker on your car if you want to drive in certain French towns. Including many bordering Geneva – such as Annemasse, Ville-la-Grand and Gaillard.
Annecy is also included.
The rule applies to all cars, irrespective of licence plate.
Not having a sticker could land you with a EUR 450 fine.
But the good news for Geneva drivers is that the Gevena ‘stick air’ label is now recognised in France. That will be sufficient.
On the subject of stickers – today is the last day you can use a 2024 autoroute vignette. Tomorrow you must have a new one – either a sticker or buy an e-vignette online.
