People are mainly annoyed by noise

Noise is the leading cause of neighbour disputes in Switzerland, according to a new study by ImmoScout24.

The survey found forty-five percent of conflicts are linked to noise, although most residents say relations remain generally calm.

Women and younger people report being more frequently disturbed.

Regional differences also emerged. Complaints about waste are more common in French-speaking areas.

Despite the tensions, most people prefer direct dialogue, with nearly three-quarters choosing to confront neighbours rather than file formal complaints.
