Pandemic brings Switzerland and France closer

The experience of the pandemic has brought Switzerland and France closer together in seeking joint solutions over health care.

That’s the conclusion of the French Minister for People with Disabilities who was at a meeting in Geneva to discuss how the two countries can work together better.

Sophie Cluzel spoke to the Tribune de Genève and says a lot as been learnt over the past two years and there will be a permanent change.

She says France is prepared to look at the issue of pay discrepancy between France and Geneva, which sees many health workers prefer to work in Switzerland.

She also acknowledges the issue of no hospital in the Pays de Gex, despite a population of 100,000.

She says it’s a real concern and there could be more options for French patients to access Swiss care.
