Novartis to cut more than 1,000 jobs in Switzerland

Novartis

The Swiss pharmaceutical giant Novartis is confirming there will be major job losses in Switzerland.

In April the company said it would restructure its operations around the world – cutting 8,000 jobs.

Here 1,400 will go – out of 11,600 jobs in Switzerland – around 10%.

The company wants to save a billion dollars by 2024.

Most of the lost jobs will be from finance, human resources, legal positions and communications.

It will also consolidate some research positions.
