French police have opened a murder investigation after the bodies of a father and his daughter were found in Lake Geneva.

The bodies of the 34-year-old father and his 2-year-old child were spotted by a walker near the village of Meillerie – 10 km from Evian.

Police have searched the father’s home and say they’re working on the initial assumption the father is responsible for their deaths.
