Man arrested for Perly rape - may be responsible for others

A man is in custody in Geneva, believed to be responsible for several rapes in the canton.

He was first arrested in December last year in relation to the rape of a 16-year-old girl in Perly in November.

The girl was just a few hundred meters from her house in Perly, walking the dog, when attacked.

Police are investigating if the man has committed other sexual attacks. They say they have information that he has, even attacks that weren’t reported at the time.

He remains in pre-trial detention.
