A man has been arrested after an American tourist was raped and beaten in the middle of Geneva.
The woman was waiting for a taxi at 1.30 am just outside the Confederation Centre on Sunday the 25th February.
The police say the man approached her, asking if she wanted to buy drugs. She refused, the man then became violent and hit her on the head. The attack lasted half an hour.
The Prosecutors’ Office says the suspect lives in France and was arrested outside Switzerland.
