Iranians protest in Geneva

Around 150 people gathered yesterday evening on the Rue de Mont-Blanc in Geneva to show solidarity with the Iranian people, as the political and social situation in Iran continues to worsen.

Speakers denounced repression, internet shutdowns and a growing death toll.

Organisers say casualties could be in the tens of thousands.

Many spoke emotionally about loved ones back home. Some haven’t heard from their families in weeks.

Several demonstrators covered their faces or wore symbolic veils, fearing reprisals.

They say their goal is simple - to relay what Iranians are living through and make sure the world doesn’t look away.
