Govt may have to reveal covid contracts

The Swiss government says it will not appeal a court ruling ordering the disclosure of Covid-19 vaccine contracts.

The Federal Health Office confirmed it prepared to release the agreements following a decision by the Federal Administrative Court.

The case stems from requests made under the Transparency Act, seeking access to contracts signed between the health authorities and the army pharmacy for vaccine purchases.

The court ruled there were no legal grounds to keep the documents secret, saying disclosure would not harm Switzerland’s foreign policy interests.

But, the vaccine manufacturers involved may still appeal, arguing the contracts contain commercial and manufacturing secrets.
