Geneva residents have more passports than those elsewhere in the country.
Figures from the Federal Statistics Office show there’s a wide gap from those living near borders and those in the central parts.
In Geneva, 48% have a second passport – but in canton Obwalden only 5.6% have two.
The most common combination is a Swiss with an Italian passport, then French and then German. Perhaps unsurprisingly, all neighbouring countries.
Other common combinations are those with Swiss and then a Portuguese or a Turkish passport.
