Geneva doctor sentenced for killing wife

A Geneva court has sentenced a dermatologist to 14 years in prison for murdering his wife in Vandœuvres in October 2021.

Judges ruled the doctor, who had consumed crack cocaine with his wife that night, shot her four times with a .357 Magnum in their bedroom.

The court rejected claims by experts that the man was suffering from diminished responsibility.

Prosecutors said he acted out of frustration during an argument and later tried to stage the scene and dispose of the body.

The court said his actions showed control and awareness after the killing.
