Geneva communes should work together to maximise planned energy saving measures over the winter.
The Association of Geneva Communes says in a press release that some street lighting should be switched off at night and it should be coordinated, especially for local roads and paths that straddle communal lines.
Similarly, the same switch-off times should be for all parks and playgrounds.
Outdoor ice rinks will be permitted, but for a shorter time over the winter – from the beginning of December to the end of January.
Swimming pool temperatures will be set at 26 degrees and the temperature in sports halls at 17.
But as these are only recommendations – there’s no obligation for the communes to follow them.
