Flood alerts are in place in several areas around the country.
Heavy rain and melting snow is expected to flow into the rivers and lakes raising levels.
The government has raised the alert levels from 2 to 5 on the plateau and around the Jura.
The rivers which are being watched most closely are the Arve in Geneva, the Aare around Biel and Bern as well as sections of the Rhine, the Emme and Thur.
Warmer temperatures are expected in the mountains, the snow line rising to 2,000 meters.
