AI could be worth billions to Switzerland

Artificial intelligence could give Switzerland a serious economic boost.

A new study commissioned by Google and Digitalswitzerland estimates AI could increase Swiss GDP by 11% within ten years - that’s CHF 85bn.

The biggest gains are expected in research and development, where AI could raise efficiency by up to 20 percent.

Experts say the real challenge will be turning innovation into successful companies, especially helping small and medium-sized firms scale up.

In research-heavy sectors like pharmaceuticals, Switzerland could even outperform the EU average.
