Zurich Airport says a lack of security staff was the reason behind long queues yesterday morning.
Passengers started to share pictures of hundreds waiting in line to get their bags searched before being allowed airside.
One complained even though a sign says the wait should be 15 minutes from his position in the line, it still took an hour.
An airport spokeswoman says that they have to rely on the cantonal police for security checks. She says employing staff is a major problem at the moment.
She recommends getting to the airport at least 2 hours, preferably 3, before your flight.
