The Federal Council has been criticised for buying a new executive jet for over a hundred million francs.
It’s much bigger than the previous plane – with a longer range – it can reach Australia if needed.
But the tax payer is in for another bill – the hanger at its home, Bern Airport, is too small for it. It needs to be expanded.
The airport says it will cost several million francs.
Until its ready, the plane will be stored at the air base in Payerne in Vaud.
