British digital bank Revolut has admitted handing customer information to fraudsters who impersonated a European government agency
Around 680 clients across Europe were affected — including in Switzerland — with addresses, ID documents, and account details compromised.
Revolut says client funds are safe and that it has contacted those hit.
Reports link the fake requests to emails apparently sent from a legitimate Italian prefecture domain, targeting customers holding significant cryptocurrency in France and Switzerland.
Revolut applied for a Swiss banking licence earlier this month.
