Police were led on an unlikely chase in the French department of Ain on Saturday night.
A 65-year-old woman stole an ambulance which had been parked outside her retirement home. The crew had left the keys in the ignition.
She was quickly tracked down as the vehicle has a GPS tracker. But she failed to stop for police who chased her for half an hour.
She finally came to a halt outside her old home near Bourg-en-Bresse.
