We’re all throwing too much food away and the government says it wants to do something about it.
The Federal Council says each person in the country wastes 330 kilos of food every year and has brought in a plan to cut that waste by half by 2030.
In the first phase of the plan which starts this year involves improving the shelf life of some foods, increasing food donations to charities and optimizing packaging.
It's hoped the first phase will cut waste by 25% by 2025.
