Even though we want to make sure cash will not go away – we’re not using it.
The initiative, ‘Cash is Freedom’ collected 137,000 signatures to protect cash usage in the constitution. It’s expected parliament will agree.
But still, we’re now far more likely to use electronic payments. The Swiss National Bank says the use of cash is plummeting.
In 2017, cash was used in 70% of transactions, but last year that was down to just 30%.
