Vaccine centres overloaded again

The requirement of a Covid pass to enter certain public spaces means many vaccination centres are now overrun.

In several cantons it’s now almost impossible to get a date for a jab within the week.

The centres say they are trying to increase capacity, but many had run down their services over the summer when demand trailed off.

Geneva is a bit of an exception, where there are still slots to get a dose.

A spokesman for the cantonal hospital in Valais says it’s disappointing more didn’t get the jab when demand was lighter a few weeks ago.
