A teenage American tourist died in canton Valais over the weekend after falling 100 meters.
The 16-year-old girl was with her family at the Mysterious Gorges in Trient. It’s a well-established tourist destination with underground waterfalls.
Police are still trying to determine how the teen fell down an embankment to the river bed.
Rescue services arrived quickly, but she was declared dead at the scene.
Investigations are underway.
