The Swedish entry into NATO may have an impact on its monitoring role in Korea which it shares with Switzerland.
The two countries form the Commission for the Supervision of Neutral Nations in Korea. Soldiers from both countries have sentries south of the demarcation line.
Their job is to check on weapon positions, observe military exercises and make sure the armistice agreement is being adhered to.

Switzerland says its ready to find another partner if Sweden is unable to continue following NATO membership.
But it’s hoped Sweden can remain, as the definition of neutral in this context is any country which hasn’t participated in international action with the United States.
