Switzerland and France have signed an agreement to combat irregular immigration more easily.
It was formalised by the French Interior Minister, Gérald Darmanin and the Swiss Minister of Justice, Elisabeth Baume-Schneider at the Moillesulaz border between Geneva and Haute Savoie.
Both sides stressed the plan will not affect the thousands of Frontaliers who cross the border every day.
Switzerland is becoming a popular route for transit for many.
The agreement will mean more joint border guard patrols on trains and mixed units specializing in the fight against irregular migration.
Similar agreements have already been signed with Germany and Austria.
