A guide for women written by the Sankt Gallen cantonal police on how to stay safe has been taken down amid a social media storm for victim blaming.
The guide aimed at women out alone suggests drinking in moderation to maintain a clear head.
The report was highlighted by a Green Party politician, Carla Reinhard, who tweeted it's not up to women drinking less, but men harassing women less.
The online guide has been on the police website since 2019, but has only now been noticed.
It’s been taken down and the police have apologised.
