Hundreds of ardent Geneva Servette supporters were locked out of the stadium for yesterday’s match against Lugano.

Normally the ultra-fans take up part of the North Stand, where they make their presence known with drums and chanting throughout the game.

But the cantonal department of Justice ordered the section closed as punishment for trouble at a match last week in Lausanne.

200 gathered outside the stadium during the game, continuing their chanting.

Police say there was no trouble at the protest.

Servette and Lugano drew 2-all.
