Servette FC supporters are disappointed the price of flights and accommodation in Glasgow means many will not be able to watch the Geneva team play Glasgow Rangers at the iconic Ibrox park tomorrow in the third round of the Champions League.
The first leg of the third round will be played in Scotland tomorrow. Servette fans and players are admitting they didn’t expect to be there – but they scraped through after a draw against Belgium club Genk last week.
There’s been a last minute scabble for flights and hotels. But there are no direct flights from Geneva to Glasgow and the Scottish city is also hosting the World Cycling Championships – meaning hotels are already booked.
But fans are buying tickets for the return leg. Rangers will be paying Servette in Geneva in a week from now.
It’s fully expected the Stade de Genève will sell all its 30,000 seats.
