The cable car running to the famous Schilthorn will close over the weekend for renovation. It won’t reopen until March.
The rotating restaurant, the Piz Gloria, has already closed.
The mountain top resort will be turned into a hotel for the workers.
The renovation is part of a full-scale redevelopment of the region. New cable cars running to Stechelberg, Mürren and Birg have already been installed – and will be available to skiers over the winter.
When completed, the ride to the Schilthorn will slightly faster as the new cable car will have three sections – and not the current four.
It will reopen on March 15th 2025.
