Two elected politicians – one in canton Vaud and another in Geneva are calling on Swiss Federal Railways to support a direct train service from Geneva to London.
The idea has been receiving broad support, but the SBB would prefer the link to run from Basel to London for cost reasons – but one of its own reports suggest if the train left from Geneva, it will be more popular.
In Geneva the Liberal Party member, Diane Barbier-Mueller and in Lausanne, the Green Liberal member, David Vogel are urging the two cantons to work together to make it possible.
