Switzerland is facing a disturbing rise in femicides.
The triple murder in Corcelles in canton Neuchâtel, has brought the number of victims to 22 since the start of 2025, according to the Stop Femicide Project.
With no official statistics available, the NGO tracks cases linked to domestic violence.
By comparison, 26 femicides were recorded last year, 20 in 2023, and 18 in 2022.
The pace this year is particularly alarming: eight women were killed in the first two months alone, and 18 by the end of June.
Recent cases in Fribourg highlight that French-speaking Switzerland is not spared.
