There were zero cases of sexual abuse by canons of the Great Saint Bernard at the Champittet college in Pully, in Canton Vaud - that’s the report by a lawyer in Lausanne.
There were, however, cases of abuse in 2021 and the 1980s that have been described as “peripheral”. The report goes on to cite that “reprehensible acts” were committed outside the college by canons who had previously worked at Champittet, or by religious people who were not canons.
The congregation of Grand-Saint-Bernard denounced a canon in 2022 for abuse of a 12-year-old child, which became the catalyst for this report.
