A group of around 25 men, hailing from all over Europe and the US, attracted police attention over the weekend whilst hiking through the Wildhorn massif in the canton of Bern.
The police attention was not due to their actions, but rather their dress code.
The group was dressed entirely in historical Nazi uniforms. An eyewitness told SRF, she recognised swastikas and other Nazi-era symbols on some of the uniforms.
The police ordered the group to remove their jackets bearing Nazi symbols as a preventative measure, but Switzerland actually doesn’t criminalise the wearing of such symbols so the men are not facing any criminal consequences.
The SRF reports that they don’t appear to have been seeking attention, as they were well away from cities and large groups. The group claimed to be dedicated to historical reenactment.
